21st Century Method of Teaching Nigerian Indigenous Languages for National Development: Learner Centered Examples.
There is a need to adopt learner centered teaching methodology for an active, cooperative and inductive teaching and learning of Nigerian indigenous languages.
This frames the focus of the рарer; pointing that the characteristics of indigenous languages are socio-culturally, politically,
and economically enshrined in the belief system of the native spеaκers.

For when explored, leads to national development.
In the midst of the challenges militating against national development in Nigeria, the рaреr also suggests that ideas, knowledge,
information, skills are supposed to be streamed and shared for the learner to have a long-term retention and adequate understanding,
develop creative solution skills, and possess positive attitude in the knowledge and proficiency of the language taught.
However, the language significance and proficiency will also transform into the impulsion to establish language policy by the government.
For it contains ‘a strong interrelationship with social organization.
Furthermore, the interrelationship of language policy with social organization shall motivate the apt participation of the people cum
every sector of development to assist the nation ‘in diplomacy, cohesion, conflict resolution, and interaction among and between our neighbours.
It will also assist us to increase learning in schools’ (Waya 2011).
The pаpеr finally recommends the maximization of the 21 st century teaching methodology of learner centered examples,
language policy and reorientation of the native sреakers not to despise their indigenous languages to foster national development.
